About Rita Ford Music Boxes
Exceptional
customer service, knowledge of the products, repairs, antique restoration and a commitment
to offer the finest music boxes made today are what sets Rita Ford Music Boxes
apart.
Rita Ford Music Boxes was established in New York City in 1947. Mrs. Ford began with
a store selling a variety of period antiques, but her enchantment with antique music boxes
led her to specialize exclusively in both contemporary and antique music
boxes. Mrs. Ford's passion for music boxes is carried on in a family owned and
operated business. Gerald Wright began his association with Rita Ford in 1983.
As a conservatory trained musician, Gerald was fascinated by and had a natural
understanding of these wonderful musical machines. He quickly learned the
specialized art of antique music box restoration. Today, Gerald is considered
one of the finest restorers of antique music boxes in the country. Gerald, his wife
Nancy and son Chris along with Nancy's parents, Joseph and Diane, purchased the New York
Store from Rita Ford in 1991. As a family of musicians, they complement their
business with an expertise in and a love for music. An owner is always present in
the store where you will find antique and contemporary boxes as well as specialty pieces
offered only at Rita Ford Music Boxes.
Rita Ford Music Boxes was the first, and remains the only store in the United States to
service, repair and sell both antique and contemporary music boxes.
